Roblox Blocks Endless Video Feeds on Child Accounts: Why a Game Can Suddenly Be Gone

Since 25 August, games built around endless video feeds have been dropping out of child and teen accounts. Which three features a game must have, who this affects, and what you can do when a favorite game has vanished.

If a game has been missing from your child’s account for a few days, and it was there before, there has been a new reason for that since 25 August 2026. Roblox has introduced a rule that blocks certain games on child and teen accounts. It applies immediately.

It covers games that are not really games at their core, but endless feeds of short videos, the kind familiar from TikTok, which hand out something inside the game for carrying on watching.

The rule in one sentence

A game is blocked when all three features apply at the same time. That is how it is written in the official announcement in the Roblox developer forum dated 25 August 2026:

FeatureWhat that means
1. A media feedShort videos, images or posts in story format
2. It keeps running on its ownAutoplay, endless loop, infinite scrolling or auto scrolling
3. A reward for staying with itThere is something in the game for carrying on watching, or the game suggests as much

If one of them is missing, everything is fine. A game with a cinema in it that plays a video is therefore not affected. A game in which a video wall runs by itself and hands out coins while it does is affected.

Roblox explicitly exempts its own rewarded ad videos. The reason Roblox gives: the child starts them, they do not keep running endlessly, and there are limits on how often they may appear.

Who this affects

Roblox sorts account types by age. Two of them are affected:

  • Roblox Kids, for children aged 5 to 8
  • Roblox Select, for children and teens aged 9 to 15

That is exactly the age group that reads this site. Accounts for ages 16 and up and adult accounts are not affected by the rule.

A game that meets all three features disappears from Kids and Select until the development team rebuilds it and it is reviewed again. Anyone who played it before cannot get back in until then. This happens without warning and without the child having done anything wrong.

One example from the same week: the game Steal an Egg disappeared from the catalog entirely for a few hours on 24 August and came back afterwards without its video ticker.

What you can do when a game is missing

One step at a time, and without panic:

  1. Check whether the game still exists at all. Sometimes developers take a game offline themselves.
  2. Do not change the age on the account. It is tempting to move the date of birth up so the game shows again. That is exactly what we advise against: it also removes every other protective setting, not just this one block.
  3. Wait. Once the development team rebuilds the feed, the game comes back. With Steal an Egg that took about three hours.
  4. Talk about the reason. That is the real point, see below.

Put in context for parents

This rule is unusual, and in a good way. Roblox is not banning particular content here, it is banning a particular design: the pull. A reward for staying with it, no natural ending, everything running by itself.

That design is exactly what makes it hard for children to stop. Not because any single video is bad, but because no moment ever arrives at which something is finished. Anyone who has tried to pull a child away from a feed like that knows the difference from a round that is about to end anyway.

It works well for a conversation at home, precisely because the block comes from outside and not from you. The question for your child does not have to be whether the game was good or bad. It can be: do you notice when you want to stop, and does the game manage to keep you going anyway?

What this rule does not do: it covers only Roblox, and only accounts under 16. The real endless feeds are still sitting in completely different apps.

Which Roblox settings actually make a difference is covered in Is Roblox safe for kids. If you want to make sense of Roblox age levels as a whole, Why is Roblox now rated 16? helps.

As of 29 August 2026. The rule has been in force since 25 August 2026 and applies immediately. Roblox does not publish which games are affected. We will look again when there is news.
